Located at an altitude of 490 feet, La Clapère is
an ideal starting point to visit the region.

the Domain La Clapère.
For the art lovers, the city of Céret 4.3 miles away houses
the Museum of Modern Art. This sub-prefecture,
called the « cherry capital » has a bullfighting tradition
since the end of the XVIth century.
Bulls releases are organised around the 14th of July
followed by local dances demonstrations as the « sardane ».
On the campsite, you are just 5 miles away from the Perthus,
a boarder village with Spain.
In Figueras, city of the famous painter Salvador Dalí,
you will find out who contains the most beautiful pieces of art from
the surrealism master.
Art and culture near Maureillas
Roman art lovers, make sure to visit the Abbay of St Martin du Canigou
which overhang the Casteil village 50 miles away from La Clapère and the Benedictine monastery :
the Abbey of St Michel de Cuxa.
Explore the natural areas of Bouillouses around Font-Romeux
as well as Odeillo and its solar oven one of the biggest in the world.
Have a look on the French Catalonia Capitale : Perpignan.
With sunny days all year, the city will seduce you with its Palace of the Kings of Majorca and its gardens
and the Castillet, former prison converted into a museum.
Many others monuments just as glorious and historical

Dear sport enthusiasts, enjoy the close proximity of the Canigou
which culminates at 9130 feet.
Try out the GR 10 and enjoy the peaks already climbed by
the best cyclists of the Tour de France.
The campsite is also close to the Col de Puymorens.
